You should avoid store credit cards because they are considered to be a negative debt. Not only can they only be used in one type of store but also they most often carry the highest interest rate around.  Store credit cards can be very alluring, especially at the holidays.

There’s a nice lady at the front of the store offering you a free gift if you apply for the card. Don’t fall for it!

There might be an offer at the checkout to save 20% on today’s purchase if you apply for a store credit card.   Don’t fall for that either!

Not only do the store cards put you at a disadvantage from an interest rate perspective but can lead to overspending. Not only will you tend to buy more at that store rather than shop around for the lowest priced product but you’ll pay a lot more for the goods when you factor in the interest.

Credit card companies offer a very low monthly minimum payment because they want you to carry a balance.  It’s much better to opt for a generic credit card that can be used anywhere as you’ll be less likely to spend and when you do spend, you’ll probably save on interest charges.

Department store spending is generally for variable expenditures and using cash for these types of expenses will help you stay on track and help reduce overspending.

In our featured product of the month, we talk about “high quality lapis”. Do you know what makes lapis qualify as “high quality”? There are a few factors that go into it’s classification:

Is it died? If it is died it will appear to be too uniform in it’s color. Natural lapis should have slight variations in color, the larger the variations, the lower the quality.

Is it waxed? Waxing the stone is part of the polishing process. Waxing doesn’t change the quality, it creates a shiny stone. A good example of waxed, high quality lapis is the centerpiece of Butterfly with Lapis Necklace.

Is the Color Uniform? Above I mentioned the more uniform the color, the higher quality, as long as it is natural. Some lapis will have streaks of gold or patches of white. These indicate a lower quality, although they can add texture and dimension to the stone.

Vacation Bible School has brought to my attention one overwhelming fact this summer- kids love to wear t-shirts that show their love for God. From the cutesy to the superhero, Christian Clothing for kids is a market all by itself. However, it’s a market that has not been saturated.

As I prepare for the launch of our new Christian Clothing line, I have had many friends tell me to make sure I do a line for kids. They have expressed their disappointment with the lack of selection. I have since started working on a line of Christian t-shirts for kids. It’s not that they aren’t already out there, but it’s always fun to find something new.

It is fun to design Christian Clothing that is less complicated and that appeals to the innocent eyes of a child. Children who love Jesus and aren’t afraid to let the world know are such a beautiful thing!

I am all for saving money.  What woman doesn’t want to save a couple of bucks when she is shopping?  Nowadays, most of us have moved our shopping online and love coupon codes.  FindSavings.com is a great place to get your coupon codes to save yourself a couple of bucks.  You can easily find what you are looking for.  On the left sidebar, you can search for your coupon either by using the category list or the store list.  On the right sidebar, you can see all the new coupons that have been added into their system.  The middle column has all of your featured deals.  I personally am loving the HP Home Store Offers.  Our HP desktop that we have now was custom built in 2000, and it still works!  However, it is a tad slow compared to my laptop (which I bought in January).  I had been thinking that we should do another custom built cpu, and I just found a coupon for $400 off!  They even have coupon codes for my most favorite store:  Best Buy.  I can definitely always spend my hard earned money there.  What is my favorite part of this site?  I can sign up to get an email with the latest codes.  Who wouldn’t want ways to save money sitting in their email?  I know I am signing up for a couple of these coupon emails with my favorite stores.  If you are looking for a one stop shop for your coupons, FindSavings.com is it.
